Jazz.FM91 Live to Air: Oscar Peterson Day with the Hilario Durán Trio

Oscar Emmanuel Peterson was born Aug. 15, 1925. Because this day was blessed with one of history’s greatest jazz musicians, JAZZ.FM91 officially declared that Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, would be known as Oscar Peterson Day.
He personified excellence in everything he approached. He was a gifted and multiple award-winning musician, composer and educator, and a Canadian ambassador. His legacy lives on to this day, not only in his remarkable and timeless music but in the way he continues to inspire those who have followed.
The City of Toronto joined JAZZ.FM91 in marking the occasion, too. In 2022 Mayor John Tory, on behalf of Toronto City Council, proclaimed the date as Oscar Peterson Day in the city.

JAZZ.FM91 will celebrate Oscar Peterson Day on Aug. 15, 2023, with a very special Live to Air concert featuring pianist Hilario Durán, bassist Roberto Occhipinti and drummer Mark Kelso performing the music of the Canadian legend.
Date: August 15 / Cost: Free
Time: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Venue: Long & McQuade Performance Hall
